I mix and match my colours on a B/W palette
Site specific installation | Pencil on paper, 140x100cm, 29×42 cm | 2018
The installation consists of a hung drawing on the wall and a folded text on the floor.
The drawing makes use of the concept of “mise en abyme,” the double mirror effect created by placing an image within an image. The exhibition space itself is drawn into the drawing. The drawing within the drawing shows working utensils and papers on which marks can be seen that look like color palettes and in which some of the mixed colors are circled and numbered.
The folded paper is placed in such a way that the viewer must adopt a certain position in order to read the text. The poetic text tries to add another level to the staged situation and tells about visibility and invisibility in the process and in the exhibition.
